Apple Has Scrapped Plans for a 4-inch iPhone 6c?
First Apple needed to release a bigger iPhone for fear or loosing out to market share and then Apple were doomed if they didn’t release a 4” iPhone. Those “familiar with the matter” claimed that supply chain stock figures looked towards a 4” iphone on the horizon but no more.
According to Timothy Arcuri, an analyst with Cowen and Company, Arcuri claims to have seen evidence of what he refers to as an iPhone 6c.
The device was apparently showing up in Apple's supply chain from January to March; however, traces of the phone have since disappeared.
The analyst believes that Apple may have killed the device to prevent cannibalization of its larger phones.
"I think one of the reasons is because the iPhone 6 has sold so well,"
"And they said, 'Look, why would we want to cannibalize? If we came out with an iPhone 6C, we would essentially cannibalize a price-reduced iPhone 6.'"
Notably, back in April, popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that despite rumors of a 4-inch iPhone 6c this fall, it was likely that the smaller device wouldn't arrive until next year.
